A little bit about Mrs. Hatcher

Kara Hatcher is entering her 29th year in Catholic education—which means she’s been shaping young minds
since dial-up internet was a thing. Her Catholic faith has always been her compass, and she considers Catholic
education not just a job, but a divine calling (with a lot of coffee). A conference speaker once said, “We’re in the
ministry of Catholic education. It’s God’s plan; we just help implement it.” Kara took that to heart, building
enrollment plans that span ten counties and counting.

She holds a B.S. in Rehabilitation Education with minors in Psychology and Sociology from Emporia State
University. Since relocating to Athens, Georgia in 2005, Kara and her husband Dierk have raised three amazing
kids. When not championing Catholic schools, Kara can be found in her kitchen whipping up Italian feasts that
would make a nonna weep. She lives for good food, great conversation, and the Kansas City Chiefs—usually all
at once.
