Donovan Family Volunteer Requirement

Donovan Catholic School is committed to cultivating a vibrant, engaged community rooted in our shared values of faith, service, and excellence. Family involvement plays a vital role in our school’s success, and we recognize that active participation from our families strengthens our school community and models the value of service for our students.

Volunteer Hours Requirement: Each Donovan family is required to contribute 20 volunteer service hours per year. This service may be completed by parents, guardians, or other adult family members.

Mardi Gras Raffle Option: To help families meet this requirement and support one of our major fundraisers, up to 10 of the 20 required service hours may be fulfilled by selling 10 Mardi Gras Raffle tickets (1 hour per ticket sold). Tickets must be documented and turned in by the deadline to receive credit.

Volunteer Opportunities Include (but are not limited to):

• Attending and assisting with school events (e.g., Mass announcements, school dances, retreats)
• Volunteering at athletic events (gate, concessions, scorekeeping, etc.)
• Participating in service or fundraising committees
• Providing transportation or supervision for approved field trips or sports events
• Assisting teachers with classroom preparation, organization, or tutoring
• Donating time to school maintenance or beautification projects

Tracking and Reporting: Families are responsible for tracking and submitting their volunteer hours using the designated form provided by the school. Hours must be submitted by May 10 of the academic year.

Exemptions or Special Circumstances: We recognize that every family’s circumstances are unique. Families who are experiencing hardships or have questions about fulfilling their hours are encouraged to contact the school office to discuss alternative arrangements.
